Wei Yang is a professional musician and a celebrated virtuoso on the pipa, a Chinese string instrument. He has performed worldwide as a soloist with various orchestras and ensembles, including the Silk Road Ensemble with Yo-Yo Ma. Wei Yang is opening our January 14th performance featuring the music of Tan Dun, which includes the American Premiere of Tan Dun’s Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra (Yi2).
