Coach Frankie Ruiz offers 10 tips to prepare for Bounce Back from Cancer {TRANSCRIPT}: - Hi everyone, thanks for joining me. Frankie Ruiz here, your Bounce Back from Cancer Coach. The Bounce Back Challenge is 14.2 miles from Miami Cancer Institute in Kendall to the Kaseya Center in Downtown Miami. Or you can choose the two-mile course from the Underlines Brickell Backyard to the Kaseya Center. You can walk or dribble, and with a few tips, you too can complete the course you choose. Remember, this is not a run and it's not timed, and everyone stays together as a team. I want you to gradually increase distance and time, and give yourself some rest, don't do too much too soon. Make sure you choose the cooler time of the day to train, a little early in the morning or a little late in the evening, are usually best in Miami. Take a whole bunch of steps during the day, that adds up to your training. Vary your intensity, eVerything doesn't have to be done fast, take it easy out there. Try walking indoors, use a treadmill, or an elliptical. Bring friends and family along with you for the training. Use an app to record your time, your distance, and just to help keep track of your training. Strengthen your legs, doing some calf raises, maybe some toe raises, some squats, some lunges. And don't forget to work on your dribbling skills, you have a ball in your hand the whole way. Now that you know how to prepare, make a commitment to practicing as often as you can. Thank you for your support of Bounce Back from Cancer, and I'll see you on March 16th.
